Christ's Baptism
Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and asked John to baptize him. John protested, but Jesus said they needed to do this to fulfil all righteousness. So John baptized him and immediately the heavens opened and a dove came down and rested on Jesus.
A voice came from heaven saying, "You are my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." The dove and the voice were a sign to John that Jesus was the Messiah who had been promised, the Savior who had come to take away the sins of the world.
